Getting in
Admissions
Robin College admits on two routes: the standard route if you finished high school, and the mature student route if you didn't, or did it a long time ago. The exact requirements differ by program, and every one is listed in full below.
Standard admission
An Alberta high school diploma, or a verified equivalent from another province or country. Some programs also accept a General Equivalency Diploma.
Mature student route
For applicants 18 or over who have been out of school. Most programs ask for high school credits or a pass on an approved aptitude test; which test, and whether credits count, depends on the program.
English language
If English isn't your first language, requirements vary by program.
Each program's Admission section says what it accepts.
Everyone
Every program with published requirements includes an interview with the college. 3 of 7 programs also require clearances, such as a criminal record check, before you can start.
Requirements by program
Accounting and Payroll Administration
- StandardAn Alberta high school diploma or equivalent, verified by transcript.
- Mature studentOut of school for one year and at least 18 years of age before admission, with either 33 credits toward an Alberta high school diploma OR equivalent verified by transcript, OR A pass on an approved aptitude test (the Wonderlic or the CAAT).
- English languageAn alternative to the mature route: a foreign-trained degree together with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 or higher.
- All applicantsA successful interview with a college representative.
Business Administration
- StandardAny one of: an Alberta high school diploma verified by transcript, or a non-Alberta equivalent; successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma; or a minimum of English 30 and Math 30.
- Mature studentAt least 18 years of age, with a minimum of 80% on an academic achievement test: the Canadian Adult Achievement Test, moving to the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam.
- English languageCanadian Language Benchmark level 7; or CELPIP with no band below 7; or IELTS 6.0 overall with no band below 6.0.
- All applicantsA successful interview with a college representative.
Community Support Worker
- StandardAn Alberta high school diploma or equivalent, verified by transcript.
- Mature studentOut of school for one year and at least 18 years of age before admission, with 33 credits toward an Alberta high school diploma or equivalent verified by transcript and a pass on an approved aptitude test.
- English languageAn alternative to the mature route: a foreign-trained degree together with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 or higher.
- All applicantsA successful interview with a college representative.
- ClearancesNegative criminal record check including a Vulnerable Sector search; Current immunizations, including Hepatitis B; Communicable-disease-free status
Early Learning and Child Care
- StandardAn Alberta high school diploma verified by transcript, or a non-Alberta equivalent, or successful completion of the General Equivalency Diploma. You also need to complete the Alberta Child Care Orientation Course, which is itself the Level 1 credential.
- Mature student18 years or older, minimum one year out of school. Applicants without a Canadian high school diploma must complete the Canadian Adult Achievement Test.
- English languageCELPIP General level 7 in all areas, or IELTS General band 6 in all areas.

Legal Assistant
- StandardAn Alberta high school diploma or equivalent, verified by transcript.

- English languageAn alternative to the mature route: a foreign-trained degree together with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 or higher.

Medical Office Assistant with Unit Clerk
- StandardAn Alberta high school diploma or equivalent, verified by transcript.
- Mature studentOut of school for one year and at least 18 years of age before admission, with either 33 credits toward an Alberta high school diploma or equivalent verified by transcript, or a pass on an approved aptitude test (the Wonderlic or the CanTest).
- English languageAn alternative to the mature route: a foreign-trained degree together with a Canadian Language Benchmark of 6 or higher.
- All applicantsA successful interview with a college representative.
- ClearancesNegative criminal record check; Immunization report showing current immunizations, including Hepatitis B
Office Assistant
- StandardAn Alberta high school diploma or equivalent, verified by transcript.
