Community Support Worker students at Robin take part in a 4-week practicum through trusted college partners who understand the value of Robin’s training. Gain on-the-job experience alongside working support professionals.
A professional practicum can be a great way to get a feel for your new career and make helpful industry connections before you graduate.
In alignment with regulations and recommendations from the Ministry of Advanced Education (PPC Branch), the majority of Robin’s programs require that your practicum must be completed in a workplace that aligns with the learning outcomes of your specific program. In accordance with Robin College’s mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy, and those of most workplaces, students will be expected to follow all of the protocols identified by the practicum placement. Some programs, such as self-paced Accounting and Payroll Administration and Office Assistant, can accommodate online practicums. In these cases, students are given the opportunity to complete an on-site practicum with an employer OR choose an Online Alternate Practicum, project-based, which includes interactive use of our online learning platforms, practical skill development, relevant assessments and tests, applicable research, interactive projects, and potential speakers if relevant to the program. Programs that are not eligible for online practicums include Early Learning and Childcare, Medical Office Assistant, Legal Assistant and Community Support Worker.
